MDP supports women in STEM initiative by working with I Wish

I Wish is a community committed to showcasing the power of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths to teenage girls. They run outreach activities, mentorship programmes, TechForGood laptop donations, further education programmes and showcase events reaching a global audience.

The MDP have had the opportunity of working with I Wish for two years now. The team this year included Ciara Gara, Lisa Gaughran, Ben Geoghegan, Jack Tarmey and Alison Keane. The MDP team were responsible for managing the I Wish social media platforms in the lead up to their annual I Wish women in STEM event.

The event was attended by over 17,000 people across 28 countries. The unique event-day hashtag, #IWish22, was a top trending hashtag on Twitter. The team achieved +370,000 impressions across all platforms on the event day and gained 1,200 new followers across four social media platforms in the space of 6 months. This project gave the advisors the opportunity to gain an insight into social media management and content creation while supporting a women in STEM initiative.
